Google DevFest in Kuala Lumpur

DevFest from Google's team last Friday at Technology Park Malaysia was so cool to show the magic of Google API v3 and HTML5. They certainly rock.

So last nite i start playing with the toys and managed to do this for my farm home. http://www.red1.org/aaa/GoogleMapTest.html. Should not be hard to add directions to get out from there.

While smoking some hashish outside the hall, i heard a new term which is MASHUP, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mashup_web_application_hybrid

Something i looked for for quite some time which is to integrate Google Map to the ADempiere ERP application's Web Service. So next time the users need not login into an so old fashioned app but log onto a map that shows all the locations of their clients, assets, logistics, deliveries in colour codes and animated fashion.

If anyone out there is interested to join me in some pot i mean hacking let's rock together.

p/s Here is a Geocoding example from Google where normal addresses are located on the map by converting them into Latitude and Longitude coordinates! Put in your house address in the box and try it!

hi red1. my team can already meet you halfway on that. what we have done on the google map is to map geo-location, multi-variate, time-series:
http://k-commodities.kppk.gov.my/dashboard/dataset/566
integration is easy as we have an etl component, so i just need to have a connection to your database.
this is what we have for version 2.0, for version 2.1 we are working on a spreadsheet for adhoc queries and analysis. for version 2.2 we plan to use heat map as markers and a slider to animate the time-series changes.
