Open Source ERP For Muslim Market Supply Chain

Because I have been stressing all this while that FOSS ERP is critical for governmental linked use to achieve 4 important national objectives, ADempiere is now getting traction in Thailand and Libya and Perak, a state in the Federation of Malaysia, my home country. The 4 objectives are:
1. Sovereignty - a country has to have absolute control over its software assets critically in the age of borderless web
2. Interoperability - a country has to have all its IT assets talk to each other without license hindrance and delays
3. Ownership - a country absolutely must have full ownership of its assets including software
4. Sustainability - having resources to take over in the long run the place of vendors' interest and lockins.

To pursue the above 4, a country must take steps to learn and build resources that is beyond vendor control. It must institutionalise such resources. I been stressing that this is the missing link and greatest advantage to countries that care to see this fact.

Fortunately there are takers and now there is the establishing of ADempiere.ASIA and soon ADempiere.AFRICA and ADempiere.ARABIYA

Below is a statement issued by the organiser of the MOU which was witnessed by the Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand:
There was some progress of this MOU since HSC, HGS and ADEmpiere have been moving for setting up a training course on HOST (Halal Open Source Technology) for SMEs and technicians at Chulalongkorn University. HSC is also in process of preparation of ICT office at our new site in Chulalongkorn University, you are all welcome to visit and utilize all services there. HIT (HAL-Q integrated technology) is underway for being implemented into 12 enterprises of supply chain including 1 transportation, 1 ware house, 1 farm, 1 abattoir and 8 food facories. We expect to integrate ADempiere ERP to our HIT within this year. The success if any will benefit all signors of this MOU, anyway, please realize that such achievement requires collaboration for field trial. We shall therefore let all of you know the progress.
